Beach Access

Ngobe Village Beach Access The resort project from the beginning recognized that beach access to the Salt Creek Ngobe Indian Community (located in the center of the island) was being restricted by beach land purchases by foreign investors to the area. So the project set aside a 2 meter wide walkway easement to permanently give the community beach access. Starting in October, 2006 we jointly began the construction of that raised walkway from our property into the Village of Salt Creek.

The entire foot print of the trail has been established and cleared from the beach to the village. The walkway is a simple raised earthen path with 4 inch PVC drain pipes placed under it in required natural drainage locations. The walkway construction began at the beach and the construction has now stopped. Labor was to be supplied by the village and SBT. The villagers have been very busy of recent on other community projects and have not been able to supply any manpower to help complete the construction. We may need volunteers to complete this project.

All materials for the trail were supplied by the resort (KKM) and SBT.

In 2009, the village of Salt Creek decided to build the earthen pathway along its former route, which does not cross our property. Along with foreign volunteers provided by Casa Cayuco Resort, they constructed a raised path along the old route. We no longer need our access way and will now use it for our property access only.
